A Sonic Guardian’s Cry from Beneath the Ice
by RedRose EmeraldzCity
I created SpaceKraken during a family vacation.
On the surface, everything was fine—laughter echoed across the ice, hot drinks in hand, playful sledding in the snow.
But beneath the surface, inside my soul… there was something else moving.
Watching.
Waiting.
There was a frozen lake nearby—stunning and strange.
Black ice. Deep blue veins.
Beautiful… but eerie.
Everyone was walking across it, fearless.
But I couldn’t.
I felt it in my bones—the kind of fear that’s not just your own, but ancestral. Ancient.
A warning wrapped in intuition.
I stepped out halfway… and I had to turn back.
My soul wouldn’t let me go further.
That night, I stayed behind while the others went sledding.
I was overstimulated, emotionally full, and I needed to decompress.
To breathe.
To process.
So I sat down and gave myself what I’ve always used to survive:
music therapy.
And that’s when I saw it—
The SpaceKraken.
This wasn’t just a creature of imagination.
It was fear.
It was trauma.
It was the spiritual warfare I’ve lived through.
It was the thing that rises up when you’re finally calm,
when you’ve finally found something sacred—
and it wants to take it away.
But not this time.
Not today.
This time, I made a sound that said:
“No. You cannot have this. This is mine.
I am unafraid. I have already died.
And I have already risen.”
The Sound of Defiance
This was my first experience fully leaning into drum and bass and hardsound—
and I fell in love with it.
For a long time, I made gentle music.
Because that’s what I thought I was allowed to make.
Because of how I was raised.
Because of trauma.
Because I wanted to be the calm, the healer, the soft space.
But the truth is—
I am not the light version of a human.
I am both grace and growl.
I carry the tenderness of oceans
and the fury of storms.
SpaceKraken is the sound of that realization.
It’s the sound of a guardian who has seen too much to stay silent.
It’s what happens when you’re tired of losing what you love.
When you decide:
“I will be the one to stand.
I will be the one who watches.
I will fight in sound, not in flesh.”
Protector Mode
I’ve always been that person.
The one who watches quietly while others play.
Not because I can’t have fun—
but because my brain has already run every scenario.
Every risk.
Every emergency.
I’m the one sipping coffee
while mentally executing ten rescue plans,
praying under my breath,
steady as a lighthouse.
It used to bother me.
Now I’ve accepted it.
This is what it means to be a protector.
To carry peace—but stay ready.
To look calm—but know the storm inside is trained and listening.
“The Lord is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation.”
— Psalm 118:14 (NIV)
Reflection:
This track was born beside a frozen lake—one so hauntingly still it felt like the surface of something ancient.
While my family walked and played on the ice,
I stood back, listening to a warning in my spirit.
Something about the depth.
The black-blue glass.
The eerie silence beneath the laughter.
SpaceKraken is that warning turned into warfare.
It’s a cinematic war cry made in the stillness of overstimulation and silent prayer.
Created during a moment of overwhelm, this track became my protector—
a beat-driven refusal to let darkness steal what I was called to protect.
The deep, gnarly bass drop isn’t just a sonic thrill—
it’s a line in the sand.
A beast-slayer.
A declaration that what God gave me—
my life, my light, my children, my soul—
will not be taken.
Not by fear.
Not by shadows.
Not by any force that slithers beneath the surface trying to pull me under.
There was a time when I only made gentle, ambient soundscapes.
But this is who I am too.
Ferocious. Focused.
A guardian with rhythm in my bones
and rebellion in my blood.
This track is my unapologetic entrance into drum and bass and hardstyle.
A space I’ve longed to explore but held back—until now.
SpaceKraken is the storm beneath the surface.
The guardian at the gate.
The sound of a woman refusing to be devoured.
Final Notes
I made SpaceKraken that night not just to survive, but to speak.
To let the beast know:
“You may lurk. But you do not win.”
It was a declaration to every fear, trauma, and dark thing that’s tried to silence me before.
And maybe, when you hear it,
you’ll feel that protector in you rise too.
Because some of us weren’t made to hide.
We were made to see.
To stand.
To guard what’s sacred.
And if you’ve ever felt like that…
This song is yours too.
Protector’s Prayer
for the ones who guard what is sacred
God of Light,
I come not in fear, but in fire.
I ask not for ease, but for endurance.
Let me stand when others scatter.
Let me see what others miss.
Teach my hands to build—and to battle.
Train my ears to hear the warnings before the world falls silent.
Strengthen my feet to remain planted,
even when the ground beneath me quakes.
I cover what You’ve entrusted to me—
My children.
My light.
My purpose.
My voice.
No weapon formed against it shall prosper.
No Kraken rise shall consume it.
Make me invisible to what hunts.
Make me immovable to what taunts.
And if the storm comes…
Let me roar louder.
Let my sound be a sword.
Let my silence be a shield.
Let the rhythm in my bones
be a reminder to the darkness—
I am not alone.
I am not afraid.
I was born to protect.
And what You gave me…
I will never surrender.
Amen.
